How to Set Up Motion Detection on Your Hiseeu Camera

Motion detection is what turns your camera from a passive recorder into an active alert system. Once it is enabled, the Hiseeucloud app can notify your phone the moment movement is detected. This guide covers the three settings that matter most: sensitivity, detection zones, and schedules.

Before You Start

1. Make sure your camera shows as online in the Hiseeucloud app.
2. Update the app to the latest version (v4.9.5 as of May 2026) from the App Store or Google Play.

Step 1: Open the Camera's Settings

1. Open the Hiseeucloud app and find your camera in the device list.
2. Tap the camera, then open Settings.
3. Look for the motion detection or alarm section. The exact wording varies slightly by model, but on most models it is near the top of the Settings page.

Step 2: Turn On Motion Detection and Set Sensitivity

1. Switch motion detection on.
2. Choose a sensitivity level. Most models offer low, medium, and high:
   • Low – only large, close movement triggers an alert. Good for busy streets or windy yards.
   • Medium – a balanced default for most homes.
   • High – small or distant movement triggers an alert. Useful indoors, but expect more false alerts outdoors.

Step 3: Set Detection Zones (Where Supported)

Many models let you limit detection to part of the image, so a swaying tree or a passing car no longer triggers alerts.

1. In the motion detection section of Settings, look for a detection area or zone option.
2. Drag or tap to select the grid squares (or draw the area) you want monitored — for example, your doorway or driveway.
3. Leave high-traffic areas, such as the sidewalk, outside the zone.
4. Save the change and confirm the camera accepts it.

If your model does not show a zone option, the whole frame is monitored. Adjusting sensitivity and camera angle is the next best way to cut false alerts.

Step 4: Set a Detection Schedule

On most models you can choose when motion detection is active instead of leaving it on 24/7.

1. In the motion detection section of Settings, open the schedule option if your model has one.
2. Pick the hours you want alerts — for example, overnight or while you are at work.
3. Save the schedule.

Step 5: Test It

Walk in front of the camera within the detection zone. Within a few seconds you should receive a push notification, and the event should appear under Playback or Device Recordings if recording is enabled.
