How to Play Back Recordings in the Hiseeucloud App

Review footage from an NVR hard drive, SD card, or cloud storage using Device Recordings and the playback timeline in the Hiseeucloud app

The Hiseeucloud app can play back footage from three places: the hard drive inside an NVR (wireless kits and wired network systems), the SD card inside a standalone camera, and cloud storage if you have an active plan. This guide covers all three.

Open Device Recordings

  1. Open the Hiseeucloud app and sign in.
  2. Go to Device Recordings, or open the camera's live view and switch to Playback.
  3. Pick the camera or channel you want to review. On a wireless kit, each camera is a separate channel.
  4. Select a date. Days that contain recordings are marked on the calendar on most models.

Use the playback timeline

Once a date is loaded, a timeline appears below the video:

  1. Drag the timeline left or right to move through the day. Colored segments show when footage exists — on most models, continuous recording and motion-triggered recording are shown in different colors.
  2. Tap a segment to start playing from that moment.
  3. Pinch or use the zoom control to stretch the timeline, which makes it easier to land on a precise minute.
  4. While playing, you can take snapshots or save a clip to your phone, just like in live view.

If the timeline is empty, the device has no footage for that date. Check that recording is enabled and that the storage below is working.

Where your recordings are stored

NVR hard drive

Wireless kits and wired systems record to the hard drive inside the NVR. The drive loops automatically: when it is full, the oldest footage is overwritten. How many days you keep depends on drive size, channel count, and whether you record continuously or on motion only.

SD card

Standalone Wi-Fi, 4G, and battery cameras record to a microSD card in the camera. Battery cameras usually save short motion clips rather than continuous video to preserve battery. If playback shows nothing, confirm the card is inserted, formatted in the camera's Settings, and not damaged.

Cloud clips

With an active cloud plan, motion clips or full video (depending on the plan) are uploaded automatically and stay safe even if the camera is stolen or the card fails. Open Cloud Storage Management to check your plan, then play cloud clips from the same playback area by switching the source from device storage to cloud on supported models.

Cloud playback works from anywhere, but playing footage stored on an NVR or SD card requires the device itself to be online.

Quick troubleshooting

  • No video on a known date — the storage may have looped past it; copy important clips to your phone promptly.
  • Playback stutters — switch to a lower quality if available, or download the clip and play it locally.
  • Card not detected — reseat the card, then format it from the camera's Settings.
